 Terms and Conditions

  1. We can only fulfill prescription requests for patients who are actively attending Marian Road Medical.

  2. To ensure your safety we will need to perform a medical review with you in person at least once per year if you are prescribed any regular medication.

  3. Many medications will require monitoring of certain blood test parameters and vital signs.

  4. You will be informed if any such monitoring is overdue and a temporary prescription will then be issued to facilitate having these tests carried out. Upon satisfactory completion, a full prescription can be issued.

  5. There is no additional cost for temporary prescriptions. This facility exists to ensure safe and appropriate prescribing of medications.

  6. Hospital prescriptions should be forwarded to the surgery so that your medical record can be amended to reflect any change.

  7. Medical card holders registered with the practice seeking to have hospital prescriptions transcribed for their pharmacy should drop these to the surgery.

  8. In accordance with Irish Medical Council Guidelines, it is practice policy not to routinely prescribe Benzodiazepines, Opiate analgesia or Z-Class sleeping tablets.
